CUT is a newly established public University, which was founded by law on December 2004, being one of the three state Universities in Cyprus. CUT is a dynamic University with six leading Schools/Faculties and 13 Academic Departments, able to offer education and high-level research, in primary branches of science and applied technology, at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. CUT has set as its strategic target the design and development of research activities both within the University and in cooperation with Advanced Research Institutes in Cyprus and abroad. The research emphasis of CUT is reflected in the substantial funding provided to academics for the establishment of research centers and laboratories. Moreover, the University has adopted principles in relation to research which conform with the European Union’s declarations relating to the creation of the European Research Area (ERA). CUT has managed to handle a significant number (ca. 260 Projects with a total funding/contribution over than 40M €) of National and European (FP6, FP7, Horizon2020, Horizon Europe, LIFE, etc) research projects.
